About the Author
Welcome to Morning ("아침" or "Achim") Essays. My name is Young Lee and this website is a collection of my writings over the year.
I was born in Seoul, Korea. I moved to the United States at age 24 to study Mathematics at Brigham Young University and later completed a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Southern California. After practicing clinical psychology in the health care system and in private practice in both Arizona and California for over 30 years, I retired in Southern California and co-founded an Alzheimer prevention program in my retirement community called the Bio Senior group where I've been the president for the past 7 years.
As a retired psychologist and dedicated essayist, Morning Essays is a collection of my reflections on health and longevity, mindfulness, relationships, modern technology, and aging with purpose.
Outside of writing, I like to spend my time doing Tai chi and taking morning walks with my friends.
I hope you enjoy my writing. I would appreciate your comments and feedback and look forward to building a community that will support healthy living and aging with purpose.
I would love to hear from you and invite you to share your reflections in the comments
